FAQs

We are receiving a few commonly asked questions, as we prepare for the 2014-15 Ministry Year to begin next week. Here they are, with answers!
  • What are the TruthScripts for 2014-15? Great question! We aren't sure yet. When Awana releases the TruthScripts verses for this year, they will be posted on the Awana website page here. This year, Kimi Crombie is our TruthScripts "Ambassador"! She wants to encourage everyone to complete the TruthScripts challenge to hide God's word in their hearts! If you have any questions about Truth Scripts, please reach out to Kimi!
  • I don't think myself/ my family can afford Awana for my student(s). But I don't want them to miss out! What can I do? We never want finances to hold any student or family back from participating in our awesome Awana program! Please, talk to the Commanders, Jack & Leah Crombie, if you are in need of making financial arrangements.
  • I missed Pre-Registration! Is it too late to register? Absolutely not! We'd love to have you register ASAP, though, so no one misses out on any fun!
  • My Journey student would like to be a Student Leader in Trek. Is this a possibility? No. Trek is the only club in our program that does not have Student Leaders. This is because of the age separation requirement for all Leaders and Student Leaders.
  • I have a baby. Do you have nursery facilities that I can bring them to during Awana? Yes, we do! A pager system is also in place for your convenience.
We hope these FAQs help you out, if you've had any questions.

Before Awana Starts 2014-15 - Important Dates

Welcome!

This is the official blog of the Awana clubs & ministries at First Baptist Church in Marysville, Washington!

Please bear with us as we get this site up and running to serve our clubs & ministries as best we can.

Here are some important dates to add to your calendars before the 2014-15 ministry year begins:

  • Wednesday, August 20th 6:30-8:00pm Journey BBQ
This is just an informal kick-off event for Journey students only. (We are aware that the girls have Titus 2 Bible Study at Kimi's house, and this is the last one for the summer, so we are encouraging you to attend the study, girls!)
  • Wednesday, August 27th 6:30pm KidSafe/ Child Protection
Everyone who works in any children or youth ministry needs to attend this required meeting. Until workers have had this training, they cannot serve in ministry. We'll begin with a brief overview and information that applies to all children & youth workers, and then break out into specific Awana club groups. Not sure who your Director is? Check here.
  • Wednesday, September 3rd 6:00pm KidSafe/ Child Protection MAKE-UP
This is only for children/ youth workers who missed the first required training.
  • Wednesday, September 3rd 6:30pm Awana Pre-Registration
All parents are encouraged to come to register their children and youth for the Awana clubs & ministires for the 2014-15 ministry year. This minimizes paperwork on the first night of club, and is an opportunity for parents to learn about leaders, secretaries, directors, materials, etc.
  • Wednesday, September 10th, 6:30pm First night of club
Journey students, don't forget, you start at 6:00pm!
Thank you very much for stopping by!
